I am a specialist speech and language therapist with over 25 years of clinical experience specialising in working with children, young people and adults who stammer.

For the majority of my career (from 1993 to 2016) I worked as a senior member of the team at the Michael Palin Centre for Stammering in London, a nationally and internationally recognised centre of excellence in the assessment and treatment of stammering.
I have published a number of clinical and research papers, presented at national and international conferences and I am co-author of Practical Intervention for Early Childhood Stammering: Palin PCI Approach (Kelman & Nicholas, 2008).

Now based in Cardiff and working independently as a speech and language therapist, I am also an Associate Tutor at Cardiff Metropolitan University and teach the Disorders of Fluency module to undergraduate students. I am Welsh speaking and can provide speech and language therapy in English and Welsh.

I am passionate about my work and committed to ensuring that all those in need of speech and language therapy support have access to a highly specialist evidence-based service, in order for each individual to reach their full potential and to become a confident and successful communicator.
The fully revised and updated second edition of the manual “Palin-Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for Early Childhood Stammering” is now in print.

The manual provides speech and language therapists with a practical guide to the Palin Parent-Child Interaction Therapy programme for children who stammer up to the age of 7 years, developed at the Michael Palin Centre for Stammering.
